(Cold Spring, KY)--Mayor Mark Stoeber informed city council members that he will not run for re-election.

"For a variety of reasons, the decision not to run was a very clear one; however, not seeking re-election certainly was not an easy decision to make" said the mayor.

Stoeber went on to thank everyone for their help and support and friendship.  He also thanked his wife Mary Kaye and his two sons for their support and encouragement.

Stoeber was appointed to the Cold Spring Planning and Zoning Commission in March, 1998.  He served two terms as a city councilman, and 12 years as mayor. Stoeber leaves office as Cold Spring's longest continuously serving mayor.
