A man is facing an attempted-murder charge after he allegedly shot his stepson in the face for being a "moocher."

The victim, Craig Barton, survived the shooting.

Barton and his 87-year-old stepfather William Calvin Crow had been in a fight the night before the shooting. Officials said Barton was sitting in the carport when Crow approached him and fired several shots with a .25-calibre gun.

Burton attempted to grab the gun from Crow, eventually wrestling it away.

Crow told investigators that he was tired of being a "moocher" and upset over his stepson's heavy drinking.
