A.J. Clemente, the rookie news anchor who made a name for himself by cursing on the air during his first seconds on the job, was officially fired by TV station KFYR.

Clemente made his own headlines over the weekend after saying, "f---ing s---" one second into his first telecast.

According to a statement by KFYR, Clemente was practicing teasers and "did not realize his microphone was on."

The statement goes on to say that this was "no excuse" for his language, since reporters are trained "to always assume that any microphone is live at any time."
