You might like to think that writing an intriguing online-dating profile will make you more attractive to potential dates, but it will not.

Dating site OkCupid analyzed data from their users and found that users' ratings were based entirely on looks.

Essentially, profiles who got a one-out-of-five rating based on looks usually got the same rating for their personality. Similarly, profiles with a five-out-of-five rating for looks also got the same rating for personality.

OkCupid also found that people were only rated 10% more desirable when there was a photo and text in their personality profile as compared to when only a photo was available.
