"Austin Powers" superstar VERNE TROYER passed away on Saturday at the age of 49. There's no word on a cause of death, but a statement from his people suggests that it had something to do with the demons he was battling. MIKE MYERS says he hopes he's in "a better place."
There's no word on a cause of death yet . . . but a statement on his social media accounts suggests that it had to do with his battles with depression and alcoholism.
It said, quote, "Over the years [Verne has] struggled and won, struggled and won, struggled and fought some more, but unfortunately this time was too much.
"Depression and suicide are very serious issues. You never know what kind of battle someone is going through inside. Be kind to one another. And always know, it's never too late to reach out to someone for help."
