Samsung will lose $17 Billion on the Exploding Phones

Samsung Has Released The Full Details Behind The Galaxy Note 7 Fire Issue-its the BATTERY....(well duh). One type of battery was too big for its casing and that caused it to overheat and catch fire.

A second batch of batteries had a welding issue and some batteries in that group were missing insulation tape. The two types of batteries were made by different manufacturers, but the problems in both caused similar results.

Samsung had 700 dedicated staff testing 200,000 phones and 30,000 extra batteries as well as three outside firms looking into the cause. They all came to the same conclusion. It appears the second batch of batteries were rushed through production.

Samsung Electronics' worst-ever recall could cost the company as much as $17 billion after it halted sales of its flagship Galaxy Note 7 for a second time.

They recalled 2.5 million Note 7s in early September following numerous reports of the phones catching fire and in October told mobile carriers to stop sales or exchange of the $882 device and asked users to shut off their phones while it investigated new reports of fires in replacement Note 7s.
