Pantera Drummer, Vinnie Paul, Dead At 54

Vinnie Paul, drummer for Hellyeah and co-founder of the band Pantera, has died at age 54.

His representative confirmed the legendary drummer’s death to Billboard.

"Vincent Paul Abbott aka Vinnie Paul has passed away," reads a statement on the Pantera Facebook page. "Paul is best known for his work as the drummer in the bands Pantera and Hellyeah. No further details are available at this time. The family requests you please respect their privacy during this time."

The family reported to TMZ that Paul died in his sleep at his Vegas home. After the medical examiner releases the body, it will be transported to Texas so he can be buried between his Mom and brother.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal newspaper is reporting that Pantera drummer and co-founder Vinnie Paul died from a "major heart attack," citing "sources who knew" the musician.
