Hear Mötley Crüe Cover Madonna's "Like A Virgin"

With the release of its band biopic The Dirt only a week away, Mötley Crüe has released another newly recorded tune from the film's soundtrack.

Crüe's "Like A Virgin" is a nod to another controversial artist from the '80s, and it maintains all the irony of the original version by Madonna.

Mötley Crüe unveiled the track list for The Dirt's soundtrack last month. Bassist Nikki Sixx said the idea to cover Madonna came to him one day last year, though he's not sure what inspired it.

Drummer Tommy Lee was on board with the idea and the two presented a demo to convince producer Bob Rock that it was a good idea.

Rock has worked with Crüe and Metallica for decades. Sixx says guitarist Mick Mars even included a nod to the thrash legends in the "Like A Virgin" cover.

In addition to "Like A Virgin," Crüe has three original songs for the movie soundtrack, including the title track, "The Dirt," featuring Machine Gun Kelly, who co-stars in the film as Lee.

The Dirt is available on Netflix beginning March 22.
