Missing The Texas State Fair? This Dallas Restaurant Has Got You Covered

Illuminated Fun Rides And Ferris Wheel

The State Fair of Texas was canceled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, but fair fans won't have to miss out on that fair experience this year thanks to one Dallas restaurant.

Ferris Wheelers Backyard and BBQ is hosting a state fair pop-up experience through the end of October called "State Ferris Wheelers."

Cody Hand, owner of Ferris Wheelers, told WFAA that he knew he had to do something once he found out that the state fair was canceled this year.

"Look, I'm a huge state fair guy. It was like a shot to my soul. We already had the Ferris wheel back here, so it was kind of a no brainer," he said.

There will be fair foods to satisfy fans' cravings. Customers can choose from turkey legs, funnel cakes, burnt end burritos, and even Fletcher's Corny Dogs.

There will also be a number of traditional carnival games to play complete with prizes for the winners, and Hand says there are lots of them.

"A little 9-year-old walked out with like 13 stuffed animals. I wanted to give him 10 bucks to get some of 'em back," he joked.

State Ferris Wheelers runs Thursday-Friday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. through October 25th.
