Here's How To Check Wait Times At Polling Locations In Dallas County

Early Voting Begins

Early voting is in its last week, and residents are flocking to polling locations to cast their vote in the 2020 presidential election.

Polling locations across the country are seeing record-breaking numbers this year.

According to Dr. Kimi King, a professor of American Government and US Constitutional Law at the University of North Texas in Denton, there has been an increase in Democratic voters as well as an increase in voters over the age of 40.

The Guardian reported that as of Friday, Texas had already surpassed 70% of the total turnout in 2016, and there is still plenty of time for residents to cast a vote.

With such large numbers of people showing up to fulfill their civic duty, many residents are left wondering just how long they will be waiting in line at early voting polling locations.

Dallas County has provided a website to help residents check the wait times at polling locations across the area.

The website shows a map of the polling locations across the county. Each polling location has a colored dot indicating the wait time.

Red dots represent a wait time of more than 40 minutes.

Yellow dots represent a wait time of 40 minutes or less.

Green dots indicate a wait time of 20 minutes or less.
