The Story of Southwest Flight 1380

An engine exploded 20 minutes into a Southwest flight from New York to Dallas yesterday... the debris shattered one of the windows and 43-year-old Jennifer Riordan got sucked halfway out. She was pulled back in by other passengers, but died later at a hospital. The pilot, Tammie Jo Shults, stayed calm and landed the plane safely.

Marty Martinez, a Dallas resident on SWA Flight 1380, recounted his experience to Dan O'Malley.
