Median Salary with Age - How Do YOU Measure up?

Using data from the US Census Bureau's 2016 American Community Survey, Business Insider estimated the median income for full-time, year-round workers at every age. Big surprise, older workers tending to make more than younger workers.

Incomes tended to gradually increase with age among workers in their 20s and 30s. There is a plateau, however, among workers lasting from their late 30s to their early 60s:

  • 18 years old: $16,700
  • 21 years old: $21,100
  • 25 years old: $32,100
  • 30 years old: $40,000
  • 40 years old: $50,000
  • 50 years old: $51,000
  • 60 years old: $53,000
